Topic: How project professionals can limit risk and optimize success factors

The presentation will focus on the role of project delivery professionals and how to manage detrimental changes that occur within projects, which impact the projects original success factors as well as reminding us of the very fundamental basics below;

  • What is a project manager.
  • What is the benchmark to which PM’s are measured.
  • Are PM’s more than agents for projects.

Together with the above, a reflective overview will be provided on a past project that ended up in a difficult position on a number of fronts, those being:

  • Programme
  • Quality
  • Costs
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Reputation

 The case study will focus on the key elements above and the processes and procedures that were put in place to limit the damage and optimize the success of the project. This should provide the listener with ideas for their careers and / organization when faced with a problematic project.

As part of the conclusion of the presentation there will be opportunity for the audience to ask further questions and obtain answer that may aid in their own learning development goals.
