Topic: Not all Change Management is Equal

Digital Transformations and AI will only become bigger and greater disruptors for organisations.  The pace of change, the amount of strategic initiatives and therefore Programs of Work are only going to get more complex.

So how do you ensure you have set your project up for success, when not all Change Management is the Same?

Research suggests allocating at least 15% of the total system implementation budget to change management. Identifying the appropriate change model, the requisite skills and experience for driving change, understanding the expectations from your change manager, and grasping the synergy between your efforts are crucial aspects of change management success.

While effective leadership is paramount, project outcomes are never assured due to the myriad factors that can derail progress, such as stakeholders, budget constraints, scope changes, leadership dynamics, and competing priorities. However, tucked away in Chapter 4.2 of the PMBOK® Guide - Seventh Edition lies a treasure trove of best practices for success, covering human motivations, communication strategies, and change management essentials.

Through the Project Tailoring Process, we will illustrate how to customize your project to align with the optimal change management approach. This process involves resource allocation within your budget and the acquisition of a change management expert tailored to meet your project's unique requirements. By following this tailored approach, you will be empowered to drive successful adoption and achieve business triumph.

Learning Outcomes:

  •  Understand and recognise how your project is part of the organisations dynamic eco-system
  •  Understand how your project development approach drives your change approach
  •  Leverage how project and change deliver outcomes and business benefit
  •  Uplift your projects Performance by applying a change lens to the Project Performance Domain
  •  Use of the Tailoring Process to right size your change requirements
  •  Apply and tailor change calculations - for business case through to implementation
